Thomas William Nash, 79 of Rochester, MN.
Tom went home to be with the Lord, surrounded by his family, on Sunday, January 3rd, 2021 after a short, but courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer.
Born September 15th, 1941 in Wykoff, MN to Everett & Esther (Krueger) Nash. On October 8th, 1960 he married the love of his life and high school sweetheart, Deanna Lichty at her family home in rural Wykoff. They celebrated 60 years of marriage this past October.
After moving to Rochester in 1964, Tom worked for IBM and retired in 1994 after 30 years as a Senior Advisory Engineer in Plastics. In 1991 Tom made the front cover of “Plastics World” Magazine for his Novel Techniques to boost part Quality in Co-injection Molding. After his retirement from IBM he started his own Plastics Consulting Firm teaching molding and troubleshooting to many different companies around the world. Tom worked this business up until the time of his passing.
Toms love of sports started in high school where he was quarterback and Captain of the football team, guard on the basketball team, and catcher on the baseball team. He earned many all conference awards in sports for the Wykoff Wykats. He went on to play on Softball League for Sandy Point for many years. He started coaching youth football when his son started playing youth football and coached many City Championship Teams. Tom loved the Green Bay Packers and anyone who plays the Vikings.
Tom was known for his unfaultering love and dedication to his family. His desire to always help others, his quick wit and being able to talk to anyone with a word of wisdom or a joke to lighten anothers day. He loved to travel to Moosburg, Germany where him and Deanna have had a special bond with The Klessinger Family for over 40 years.
Tom is survived by his wife Deanna, daughter Christine (Conrad) Amy from Lanesboro, MN, son Todd Nash from San Diego, CA and daughter Brenda (Brian) Lamonica from Isla Mujeres, Mexico.
Grandchildren Stephanie Copeman, Jennifer Aden, Emily Musson, Matthew Nash, Olivia Nash, Joshua Lamonica and Jeremy Lamonica
Great Grandchildren Emilie, Rebecca, John Thomas, Anna, Amira, Waleed, Jibril, Judah and Noah. Also survived by his sister Betty and brother Fred. Preceded in death by his mother, father, brothers Jim, Don and Ken and sister Evelyn and Granddaughter Savannah.
Tom was a lifelong member of Calvary Baptist Church in Rochester, Minnesota. Blessed be his memory.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 23, 2021, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home in Chatfield. Burial and graveside service will be at a later date this summer in Waterloo, IA. Cards can be sent to:
