Sonny (Mujkic) McDonald

   Sonny (Mujkic) McDonald, 26 of Spring Valley, MN, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa died in her home Friday, June 18, 2021.

   Sonny was born November 11,1994 in Batnoga, Croatia to Nurfet and Fatma (Husidic) Mujkic.  Her and her family moved to Waterloo, IA in 1999. Sonny excelled in academics and playing trombone in The Waterloo West marching band. Her siblings and nieces and nephews held a special place in her heart, she enjoyed being there for them.

   After graduating high school in 2013, she started her career in sales for Frito Lay. After that she obtained her Certified Professional Medical Coder diploma from RCTC in 2020. Sonny was proud to be employed by Mayo Clinic as a Client Solution Technical Coordinator.

   Sonny married Sam McDonald on October 5, 2019 in Duluth, MN. As a couple they enjoyed exploring new towns and state parks with their three dogs. Sonny loved Sam AND the amount of dogs she brought home. Sonny’s other loves were; sushi, tacos and her closet full of khakis.

   Sonny was a proud: wife, sister, aunt, daughter, and dog mom. She is survived by: her wife Sam McDonald; Siblings; Veldin (Celine) Mujkic, Neven Mujkic, Janet “Koka” Mujkic. Nieces and nephews; Jaydin, Braylin, Gabriella and Aubrey. Mother and Father; Nurfet and Fatma Mujkic. In-laws; Troy and Trina McDonald; sister in-law, Traci McDonald; their dogs; Pippa, Oakley and Elliot.

   A Celebration of Life visitation will be Friday, June 25, 2021 from 5 p.m.- 7 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home, Chatfield, MN
