Laurel Manford Hilden

 Laurel Manford Hilden, 91, of Harmony, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020, at Gundersen Harmony Care Center, in Harmony, MN.
   Laurel M. Hilden was born march 5, 1929, in Lanesboro, MN., to Martin and Sarah (Motland) Hilden. He was the fifth born of nine children.  After his 8th year in school Laurel worked for many different farmers around the Lanesboro area.  In 1951 he moved up to Minneapolis and work for Armor Meats.  In 1953 he went into the Army until 1955. After serving 2 years, he went back to is old job at Armor Meats, and also joined the Army Reserve.  He retired at the age of 50.  After his retirement he worked as a janitor at Lendways Lounge in St. Paul.  In 2017 Laurel moved back to Harmony.
   He is preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Sarah; special friend, Bernadette Anne Keil; 2 brothers, Raymond and Darrell; 5 sisters, Amy Thoen, Thelma Moen, Mildred Stennes, Evelyn Hanson, and Angeline Olson.
   He is survived by his sister, Shirley Brown of Rochester; and many nieces and nephews.
   A committal service will take place at 3 p.m. Friday, July 17, 2020, at Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery, Preston, MN.
