John Thomas Powers Jr.

John Thomas Power Jr., was born November 3, 1941, in Mpls, MN.; and passed away peacefully at Chosen Valley Care Center, in Chatfield, on May 7, 2020. He is preceded in death by his mother, Martha and father, J. Thomas Powers. He graduated from St Thomas military Academy and Mankato State University with a BS. John was given an award from Senator Dole for his volunteer work at the American Red Cross.He later worked for the Red Cross as a purchasing agent. John had a good sense of humor. He loved hunting, ice fishing, snowmobiling and ATVing in the woods. He was an avid amateur botanist and wildflowers were his favorites. He enjoyed playing pool and cards with friends at the Montevideo Senior Center.
He is survived by his wife, Donna, his 2 children, son Christopher Powers and daughter Maria husband Brian Jeffrey Step daughter Karen Husband Conrad Curren and nephews David Johnson, Robert wife Patrícia  Johnson, and Brian Johnson wife Darlene Johnson and their children Tyler, McKenzie, Kylie Ann, Emma, Joseph, and Maddie.
