Obituary

JoAnne Carrol Bartram, 99, passed away peacefully on February 18, 2023 at her home in rural

Lanesboro MN, with her children by her side. She now lives eternally with her Lord and Savior. God gave her

the desires of her heart to live a long life caring for others.

JoAnne was born January 18, 1924 in Lima, Ohio to Raymond and Lillian Simmons. She married Curtis

Edward Bartram on May 11, 1944. Living first at Port Hueneme, CA, Naval Base. After the war ended

they made their home in Euclid, Ohio where her family lived.

JoAnne was beautifully old fashioned in every way. She never drove a car, never touched a computer,

and never owned a cell phone. She simply loved her role as wife, mother, grandmother, great-

grandmother, and great great-grandmother. She was known as Nana to all her family and friends. She

never complained about being a homemaker. She is known for her famous Christmas cookies, baking 15

different kinds, packing them in beautiful boxes and giving them as  gifts. No gift was cherished more.

She had a wonderful sense of humor and kept us laughing.

JoAnne is survived by her daughter, Janet (David) Parkhurst; son Thomas Bartram; son in-law Ron

Yasui; 5 grandchildren, Darrin Parkhurst, Derek (Michelle) Parkhurst, Damond Parkhurst, Devin

Parkhurst, and Jessica (Craig) Male; 8 great-grandchildren, Darrin II (Brandi) Parkhurst, Dustin (Emily)

Parkhurst, Derek Parkhurst Jr., David (Brittany) Parkhurst, Dana Parkhurst, Dylan Parkhurst, Tyler Male, and Samantha

Grabau; 10 great great-grandchildren, Davin Parkhurst, Delanie Parkhurst, Daleigh Parkhurst, Daxton

Parkhurst, Denver Parkhurst, Danica Parkhurst, Damion Parkhurst Peterson, Dominick Parkhurst, Kilynn

Grabau, and Carmen Parkhurst.

Proceeded in death by her husband, Curtis Bartram; daughter, Patricia Yasui; parents, Raymond and

Lillian Simmons; 2 brothers Richard and Kurt; 2 sisters, Jean and Barbara; and Nanny Lulu Burton (Auntie).

There will be a private family Celebration of Life for JoAnne on Mother’s Day May 14, 2023.
