Dolores Norrine (Fox) Wangen

Dolores Norrine (Fox) Wangen, 95, of Austin, MN, formerly of Lanesboro, passed away on Dec 1st, 2020, at her current residence, The Cedars, in Austin, MN.

Dolores was born Sept 29th, 1925, in Underwood, ND to Peter and Norrine (Doole) Fuchs. They later moved to Chatfield, MN, where she attended school.

While working as a waitress at the Townhouse restaurant, she met her future husband. On May 28th, 1955, she married Donald Wangen in Rochester, MN. They made their home in Lanesboro. She lived a full life, working in many different areas, including telephone operator, bank teller, waitress, cook, mother, homemaker, and was the owner of the Chat ‘N’ Chew Restaurant in Lanesboro.

She was a member and past president of the American Legion Auxiliary, and a member of the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanesboro. She enjoyed golfing in her earlier years (even getting a hole in one!), gardening, and socializing. She was a proud member of the Red Hat Society, and especially enjoyed the outings they would go on.

She is survived by two sons, Tom Wangen, of East Bethel, MN, Tim (Dolly) Wangen, of Kendall, WI, one daughter, Molly (Jeff) LeBarron, of Austin, MN, one brother, Don Fox, of Austin, MN, 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Don, parents, Pete and Norrine, 1 brother Pete, and 2 sisters, Bev and Pat.

The funeral for Dolores will be held Friday, Dec 4th at 11:00 am, at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Lanesboro, with Father Edward McGrath officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service, at the church. Burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery following the service.

Anyone wishing to attend, or stop by prior, is encouraged to wear a red hat in Dolores’s honor.
