Janice Marie (Asleson) Nelson

 Janice left her temporary home at Good Shepherd in Rushford and entered her heavenly home on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at the age of 77.
  Janice Marie Nelson was born on June  22, 1942 to Arnim and Ella (Rain) Asleson, in Lanesboro.  She graduated with the  Lanesboro High School class of 1960.  On August 31, 1963, she married David A. Nelson at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, where she was also baptized and confirmed.
  Janice worked at Peterson Motors in Lanesboro for over 40 years, where she also became a part owner.  She had been a Lanesboro Cemetery Board member and was involved in many civic organizations over the years.
  Dave and Janice enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, always looking to add to their jewel tea dishes, and other collections.  From April until November you could always find her tending her beautiful flower beds. Most of all Janice loved her family, especially the children.  She found much joy in decorating her home for the holidays and seasons.
  Janice is survived by her sisters, Marge (Dick) Fuller, of Lanesboro, and Pat (Doug) Sample, of Hastings; sister-in-laws, Ruth (Jim) Ostrem, and Mary Mindrum; and 27 much loved nieces and nephews.
  Janice is preceded in death by her parents; husband Dave in 2009; a sister Melva and Vic Gislason; a brother Donald and Sharon Asleson.
  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 A.M. on Saturday, November 9, 2019, at Discovery Church ( Lanesboro Methodist) 507 Parkway in Lanesboro, with Rev. Marilyn Loken officiating. With visitation from 9:30 A.M. To 11 A.M. at the church.
  Memorials are requested to  Lanesboro Cemetery Association.
